the perfect balance of maternal motivation and a vivid vision; Desiraé has combined all parts of her to create a solution for all.
7 days after graduating from Appalachian State University in December 2012, Desirae' Dillon born in Roanoke, VA, moved to Atlanta, GA. The transition was nothing less than a whirlwind however with perseverance and passion Desirae', also donned "Sunni D", made lavender lemonade if you will.
After a short yet eye opening year, Desirae' organized a small winter clothes giveback; that spring would be a can food drive that she even got her employer at the time to support big time! Using the summer to volunteer with other organizations and network with key culture influencers, she was able to sponsor a back to school giveback at Stars & Strike Entertainment Center; the support from this initiative also allowed her to donate school supplies to several first time teachers in GA, NJ, and CT. The year would round out with a wristband fundraising campaign that allowed her to do yet another winter giveback (this time with hats and gloves and volunteer support from Young Generation Movement).
wow, she had no idea handing snacks and water out of her VW Beetle would turn into something people wanted to give their time, treasure or talent to; early 2015 a close friend would donate a gift that allowed her to file for 501c3 status, and the rest is HERstory...
